Change default orentation for the primary display in celadon_ivvi
by gheorghe.comsulea@p3-group.com
Hello everybody,
Is it possible the change the default display orientation from landscape to portrait in celadon_ivi? The goal is to make the celadon_ivi to display the bootanimation pictures and the systemui/apps in portrait mode.
I have tried it in several ways, but without success:
1) I have set at build time in system props the ro.sf.hwrotation=90. It had no effect
2) I have set in BoardConfig.mk the SF_PRIMARY_DISPLAY_ORIENTATION := 90. It had no effect, too.
I was able to change the orientation to portrait mode only via "adb shell settings put system user_rotation 1" command, but this setting is ignored by the boot animation.
Best regards,
Gigi

Subject: [01.org Celadon] Android Auto (and more)
Hello all,
I have been using CIV_00.20.04.39_A11 as a base to try and set up an Android 11 Auto build based on the `caas` target. I am running it on my NUC7i3BNK, bare metal.
Unfortunately, I came across many issues. The worst ones are:
1. the OTA app (Car/SystemUpdater) gives to update_engine a path in the form "/storage/usb_drive_name/ota.zip" that it cannot open. This breaks OTA updates.
Worked around for now by replacing "/storage/" with "/mnt/media_rw/" in the path given to update_engine just to get OTAs working during my tests.
2. Constant native crash in libbluetooth.so (see attachment).
fyi: my caas' mixins.spec has "bluetooth: auto(ivi=true)".
I can fix the other problems, but without a fix from your side for issue 3, I can't proceed. Would you be able to help me fix this problem?
I also have a few questions:
1. Is it in Intel's roadmap to add back official Android Auto support for Celadon?
2. Are the instructions on this page<https://01.org/projectceladon/documentation/tutorials/dbc> up to date regarding DbC? I still cannot make it work on a bare metal NUC7i3BNK and an Ubuntu 18.04 Dell Precision laptop. Best I could get it to is "device offline" in ADB. I am using this cable<https://www.startech.com/en-gb/cables/usb3saa6>.
3. Is the serial connection read-only only for me? I can't get a working shell since the update to 11.
Thank you for time.
Cheers
- Valerio

Celadon in the 11th China Open Source Hackathon Event
by Lu, Jingdong
Hi All,
As you might know, Celadon is selected as one of 8 projects in the 11th China Open Source Hackathon, which is one of the most influential open source activities for PRC developers. At last weekend, Intel Celadon team hosted 3 days Hackathon Celadon event in Changsha (a big city in the middle of China) to promote Celadon and introduced Celadon project to all of Hackathon attendees (more than 100 engineers from different companies) and showed Celadon demos to them. We did good discussion with engineers from different companies including
1. Showed Demo of CiV using Celadon & Windows and set up environment for trying and debugging Celadon on Intel KBL platform
a. Fixed adb connection failure issue while using WIFI connection, it can help teams to code and debug Celadon
b. Helped attendees to try Celadon/Windows on KBL NUC and showed the Celadon/Windows smoothly switch
c. Helped attendees to try their own Android app which can work on CiV and check touch performance on KBL+4K Touch Screen
2. Discussed with attendees about their products and what CiV can help them, they took some pictures & video of using CiV and planned to discuss more about Celadon in their products
a. Suggested to try CiV and can get better user experience of workload consolidation
b. Discussed some questions about using CiV: 1. performance, 2.Touch + Display app co-existing, 3.Touch location limitation 4.hardware to support HDMI-IN
3. Discussed with attendees about their opens of using CiV, they got some answers about their opens and suggested them to raise new questions through Celadon mailing list.
a. Mass production -> try golden image and try setup_host.sh to create golden image
b. WIFI passthrough Android /USB WIFI solution -> need detail requirements
c. Multi display solution -> share the Wechat document
4. Discussed and did some testing about using different vcpu/vmem in CiV
5. Improved Celadon code mirror functionality according to users feedback
Some pictures taken in the Event as below.

Celadon CiV
by Jim Aspers
Hi Celadon!
We are looking to implement Celadon in VM for a project. Following the guide online and using the supplied scripts, we are able to get Android up and running with gvt-g enabled. However, when using software rendering, Android boots to a black screen.
All steps are followed, setup_host.sh completes without any errors. Tried three most recent releases in celadon-binary repo, as well as a release we built from source ourselves. Still the same, sw render is not working.
Could you help us out?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Re: Not able to run CIC on ubuntu 18.04 , kernel 5.4 with SELINUX enabled.
by Marathe, Yogesh
Hi Shivdeep,
Are you trying to enable SELinux on the Host OS? We don't change anything that on default Ubuntu. The claimed SELinux seems to be from Android perspective.
Regards,
Yogesh.

Subject: [01.org Celadon] Not able to run CIC on ubuntu 18.04 , kerner 5.4 with SELINUX enabled.
Hi,
Requirement: Run CIC on ubuntu 18.04 with SELINUX enabled.
While trying steps at https://01.org/projectceladon/documentation/getting-started/on-container to enable selinux on ubuntu18.04, we find that all cgroups are not mounted hence docker daemon is not able to run.
Problem: When SELINUX is enabled on ubuntu18.04, Kernel 5.4.0-51-generic, system version 237, all cgroups are not mounted. The issue seems to be due to systemd and has been listed here(https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/7901)
Steps to reproduce:
* Get a machine with ubuntu 18.04
* Upgrade kernel to 5.4 : sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04
* Get selinux: apt-get install selinux-basics corepolicyutils selinux-policy-default selinux-utils
* Enable selinux: sudo selinux-activate ,
* Reboot and check selinux status: sestatus , it should show enabled
* Many cgroups are not seen: mount | grep cgroups , only 2/3 entries seen
* Dockerd is not running: sudo docker ps , it will give error
* Disable selinux: sudo vim /etc/selinux/config , In this file update: SELINUX=disabled and reboot
* Now selinux is disabled, check sestatus: sestatus it should show disabled
* Check cgroups: mount | grep cgroups, a list of mounted cgroups will be seen, around 12/13 entries
* Check docker: sudo docker ps, it runs properly
Note this problem in running docker is not seen in ubuntu 20.04 with SELINUX enabled, it has system version 245.
Since the document at https://01.org/projectceladon/documentation/getting-started/on-container, claims CIC support on ubuntu 18.04 with selinux enabled. We want to know if there are some extra steps needed to get it working? We tried on three different machines and we had the same result, docker not running with selinux enabled.

Shivdeep
