We continue studying how tethering is implemented and we were wondering what is the
purpose of creating the bridge interface "tether". For instance, hostapd does
not do this thus it seems to not be strictly mandatory. In addition, what would happen if
a given system supports tethering but does not support 802.1d Ethernet bridging?
