we had similar trouble when one of the bricks was running out of inodes.
it depends how you stripe your data.
If you use for writing the full bricks it will trow out of space error.

Only a handful of 3% of our OST’s have reached 100% usage, but this should
not cause it as I understand.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this and how can I go about debugging
this will be a great help.
