Thanks for the links. IMO using robinhood for one-shot rebalance is
possible, as a continuous background service would be more challenging.

Sort of. If you take a look at , there are a couple of features that could pertain to
this: Layout Enhancement and File Level Replication. In theory, the use of composite
layouts with some sort of background replication could potentially be used to restripe an
active file. Although this would still likely be a manual process and not something that
is automagically done in the background to rebalance OST usage (unless someone decides to
do some clever tricks with something like RobinHood).
