The result of testing install jobs on CentOS
by Wu, Chenggang
After testing the installation, 94 jobs failed to install among all the 169 jobs. The others installed successfully. Among the failed jobs, some may caused by the internet connection, and I'll check those problems. Also among the succeed jobs, there might be some jobs that didn't show error clearly so that I can't find out that the result is accually succeeded or failed.
Should I send you the list of the result?
For the makepkg part, I succeeded in installing hackbench job with PKGBUILD file on Ubuntu. The result may be also success on CentOS and I'll test it later. There are some problems:
1. If we use the official Archlinux source of PKGBUILD file, the download speed might be very slow. I haven't find out a way to change the mirror source for now.
2. Download and compile every dependency might cost too much time
3. Should we use the official PKGBUILD file for every dependencies, which may cost a lot of time to download and compile? Or we can get some packages from apt/yum, however it is hard to find out what packages are exists on apt and yum.
Also, I can't figure out how to use JIRA. Should I comment the result to the subjects on JIRA?
Best Regards,
Wu Chenggang

[auxdisplay: img-ascii-lcd] 0cad855fbd: BUG: KASAN: global-out-of-bounds in __of_match_node at addr ffffffff83452518

Greetings,

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git master
commit 0cad855fbd083ee5fd0584a47c2aaa7dca936fd4
Author: Paul Burton <paul.burton(a)imgtec.com>
AuthorDate: Fri Aug 26 15:17:49 2016 +0100

auxdisplay: img-ascii-lcd: driver for simple ASCII LCD displays
Add a driver for simple ASCII LCD displays found on the MIPS Boston,
Malta & SEAD3 development boards. The Boston display is an independent
memory mapped device with a simple memory mapped 8 byte register space
containing the 8 ASCII characters to display. The Malta display is
exposed as part of the Malta board registers, and provides 8 registers
each of which corresponds to one of the ASCII characters to display. The
SEAD3 display is slightly more complex, exposing an interface to an
S6A0069 LCD controller via registers provided by the boards CPLD.
However although the displays differ in their register interface, we
require similar functionality on each board so abstracting away the
differences within a single driver allows us to share a significant
amount of code & ensure consistent behaviour.
The driver displays the Linux kernel version as the default message, but
allows the message to be changed via a character device. Messages longer
then the number of characters that the display can show will scroll.
This provides different behaviour to the existing LCD display code for
the MIPS Malta or MIPS SEAD3 platforms in the following ways:
- The default string to display is not "LINUX ON MALTA" or "LINUX ON
SEAD3" but "Linux" followed by the version number of the kernel
(UTS_RELEASE).
- Since that string tends to be significantly longer it scrolls twice
as fast, moving every 500ms rather than every 1s.
- The LCD won't be updated until the driver is probed, so it doesn't
provide the early "LINUX" string.

[sched] 4b25cb573a: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 0 at kernel/sched/core.c:109 update_rq_clock
by kernel test robot
Greetings,
0day kernel testing robot got the below dmesg and the first bad commit is
git://internal_merge_and_test_tree devel-catchup-201701060633
commit 4b25cb573ab6029a6ffbaf6aaa525fbb2cb51aaf
Author: Peter Zijlstra <peterz(a)infradead.org>
AuthorDate: Mon Oct 3 16:53:49 2016 +0200

CommitDate: Thu Jan 5 18:29:39 2017 +0100
sched: Add WARNING for multiple update_rq_clock() calls
Now that we have no missing calls, add a warning to find multiple
calls.
By having only a single update_rq_clock() call per rq-lock section,
the section appears 'atomic' wrt time.
