I'd tested a lot of ZTE and Huawei modems and noticed that each of them can
hang and become unusable anymore for establishing internet connection.
Some modems may hang right after boot, some of them after connection was
dropped several times.
The problem is that the "Modem" port hangs and doesn't accept any commands.
The only way to bring it to work is to reset the modem.
This is very important issue for devices that needs to be connected through
3G modem all the time and work in automatic mode!

when a context is active, the interface name is typically ppp0. If you try
to run pppd for some other device/interface, the kernel ppp driver prints
an error because it can't register ppp0. It looks like it's assumed that
ppp* interface names are reserved for the ppp_driver.
Can the tun interface name be changed to eg. ofono0?
I am using Telit HE910 modem,
After sending AT+CMER=3,0,0,2 I always got "sim card is busy".
The followoing is the part of log:
ofonod: Aux: > AT+CMER=3,0,0,2\r
ofonod: Aux: < \r\n+CME ERROR: 14\r\n
ofonod: +CMER not supported by this modem. If this is an error
please submit patches to support this hardware
My question is :
How important is this command.?
I mean what the worst consequence will be if I just ignore this error
