Hi Pan,
I checked the product identification definition in T10, I did not found that the LUN
exported by the iSCSI target should be “Virtual disk”, it is vendor specified. Actually
“Virtual disk” is the product identification name used by IET(iSCSI Enterprise Target,
which is a vendor ID registered in T10 ,
http://www.t10.org/lists/vid-alph.htm#VID_V) As
you see, we use the vendor ID Intel, product name can be specially in anyway.
Thanks.

Subject: [SPDK] more description for issue #66
Hi Daniel,
For issue
66(https://github.com/spdk/spdk/issues/66), please let me give more description
by email, because I don’t find a way to add pics in github.
If we use spdk-iscsi to connect librbd, and input lsscsi, the device name is “Ceph rbd”.

If we use the well-known tgtd to connect librbd, the device name is “VIRTUAL_DISK”:
[cid:image005.jpg@01D2547B.AAF9E4A0]
I prefer “VIRTUAL-DISK” to “Ceph rbd”:
1) The user doesn’t need to care it is a ceph a not.
2) From the usage:
http://sg.danny.cz/scsi/lsscsi.html, “VIRTUAL-DISK” is introduced.
What’s your opinion?
Thanks
Pan
