[Bug 6806] New: Remove word 'sync' from toolbar in Sync UI
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6806
Summary: Remove word 'sync' from toolbar in Sync UI
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Undecided
Component: GTK UI
AssignedTo: jku(a)linux.intel.com
ReportedBy: nicholas.e.richards(a)intel.com
QAContact: jingke.zhang(a)intel.com
CC: shuang.wan(a)intel.com, syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Release Milestone: Undecided
Toolbar's aren't supposed to be window decoration, so we should remove the
text. This is likely to leave the toolbar somewhat barren so we should consider
our correct design response.

Release Milestone: Undecided
There's clearly a demand by users for syncing with Memotoo (bug #5632, bug
#5633). Let's do the usual interoperability testing. Tentatively scheduled for
0.9.1, but we don't have anyone working on it yet.
At least last year, calendar and task synchronization was only possible in
vCalendar 1.0 format. With SyncEvolution 0.9 we have a chance to make that
work.

[Bug 7168] New: install documentation as part of "make install"
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7168
Summary: install documentation as part of "make install"
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Generic
OS/Version: Other
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: *Feature Request
AssignedTo: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com

Release Milestone: Undecided
Mentioned as part of bug #6450
> Minor issue: The installation has an empty share/doc/syncevolution directory.
> It should probably contain copies of NEWS, README, test/README.*.
I agree. I think the problem in the past was that autotools didn't have a
predefined docdir. This might not be a problem anymore with the autotools we
use today.
However, I'd prefer not to touch 0.9.1 at this point, thus assigning to 1.0.

[Bug 8116] New: D-Bus API: temporary configs
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8116
Summary: D-Bus API: temporary configs
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: *Feature Request
AssignedTo: yongsheng.zhu(a)intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Part of the SetConfig() call is the "temporary" parameter: properties set this
way temporarily override existing configs or create them from scratch. The
purpose is that a D-Bus client can create the environment for running certain
Session calls without having to create a permanent config:
- GetDatabases()
- CheckSource()
- Sync()
- GetConfig(template=False) (for consistency reasons)
Did I forget any call?
It's debatable whether reading templates should be affected by temporary
properties; I'd say no.
Of these, only Sync() currently honors temporary property changes.
Jussi, do you intend to use temporary changes in the sync-UI? If so, increase
the priority.
Yongsheng, I started writing up a patch and then thought that you might prefer
to work on this yourself. Preliminary code attached.

[Bug 8318] New: enable "lenient" mode
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8318
Summary: enable "lenient" mode
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: *Feature Request
AssignedTo: yongsheng.zhu(a)intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Both ZYB.com (bug 2424) and Mobical.com (bug 8121) have problems handling their
own anchors correctly in all cases.
Perhaps we can disable anchor checking using a new configuration option added
by Lukas:

To: Ohly, Patrick <patrick.ohly(a)intel.com>

Subject: Re: [os-libsynthesis] client-side check of server anchors (ZYB)
Date: 09/21/2009 07:02:17 PM (Mon, 21 Sep 2009 18:02:17 +0100)
[...]
I added a new mode called "lenientMode" (PROFILEFLAG_LENIENTMODE in
profileFlags)
as an "umbrella" for relaxed checks. For now, it does two things:
- prevents checking anchors sent from servers (relies on server checking
correctly and initiating slow sync when needed). This should make
ZYB work.
- allows ending the session even if some status responses are missing
(some were allowed missing already, with lenientMode status for Get
and Alert 222 can be missing as well). This was needed server side
in order to get Funambol Outlook Client work (test of a third party,
no confirmation yet).

[Bug 8316] New: sync-UI 1.0: use "defaultPeer"
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8316
Summary: sync-UI 1.0: use "defaultPeer"
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: *Feature Request
AssignedTo: jku(a)linux.intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
The sync-UI should use the new shared "defaultPeer" property to remember which
service is selected. At the moment it still uses its own custom gconf key.
Do we need a migration path? I don't think so. After upgrading, it is obvious
(and easy) enough to select an already configured service once more.
