[Bug 7213] New: OBEX support SyncML client
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7213
Summary: OBEX support SyncML client
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: Undecided
Component: *Feature Request
AssignedTo: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Depends on: 6175
Release Milestone: Undecided
A mobile device typically provides an OBEX/Bluetooth server which accepts
connections from a SyncML server running on a desktop or laptop. As a first
step we want to be compatible with SyncEvolution as SyncML server.
One component for this feature is a obexd plugin which uses the new Connection
D-Bus API to route SyncML traffic into SyncEvolution. The other component is
the Connection API implementation in SyncEvolution itself.

Description:
====================
This bug is following bug#9902 . Syncevolution via OBEX between two netbooks
can pass, triggered on server side. But triggering syncevolution command client
side will meet error.
Steps:
====================
1. Get two netbook paired.
2. On server side, make config1 for client with SyncEvolutionClient template.
3. On client side, make config2 for server with SyncEvolution template.
4. To avoid slow-sync affect, set preventSlowSync=0 on both sides.
5. Trigger on Server, PASS. 'syncevolution --run -s two-way config1
addressbook'
6. Trigger on Client, FAIL. 'syncevolution --run -s two-way config2
addressbook'
Expectation:
====================
Syncevolution process should pass, triggered by both client and server sides.
Root Cause:

[Bug 7873] New: OBEX support SyncML server ("sync with phones")
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7873
Summary: OBEX support SyncML server ("sync with phones")
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: *Feature Request
AssignedTo: congwu.chen(a)intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Depends on: 5188,7214,7838,7871
To synchronize with a phone, SyncEvolution must
- be able to act as SyncML server (bug #7214)
- initiate the OBEX connection (bug #5188)
- generate a Server Alerted Sync (SAN) message (bug #7871)
- handle the SyncML session initiated by the device
This all depends on having a correct local configuration for the phone.
Creating such a configuration in a user-friendly way is yet another open
problem (bug #7838)

[Bug 7214] New: SyncML server
by bugzilla@moblin.org

Summary: SyncML server

Severity: major
Priority: P1
Component: *Feature Request

Depends on: 4774,4815,5188,6303,6379,7089
Release Milestone: Undecided
For direct synchronization with other devices, SyncEvolution must be able to
act as a SyncML server and be able to connect to those devices via
OBEX/Bluetooth. It must contact these devices in such a way that they accept
the connection and start syncing. This is highly device specific, so the
initial goal is a proof-of-concept with some devices.
Privacy-aware power users don't want to put their data into the hands of
service providers in the Internet. For those and for testing purposes we should
also provide at least rudimentary support for running SyncEvolution as HTTP
server.

[Bug 10344] New: nightly testing: include SyncEvolution <-> SyncEvolution testing

CC: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com, syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Depends on: 2425
Since bug #2425 was fixed, our own server is the first to pass all
suspend/resume/resend tests. We should include that in our nightly testing, to
ensure that we don't break this later on.
Need to figure out how to start the server while testing. We should also
capture the server's log files and copy them into the corresponding client log
dir (see CLIENT_TEST_LOG) so that failure analysis becomes easier.

[Bug 10335] New: automatic sync - improved startup on Moblin

ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
CC: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com, syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com

Currently we use a shell wrapper script around syncevo-dbus-server with a
"sleep 60" inside to prevent starting the daemon right away at user login.
It turned out that in Moblin and thus MeeGo there is a better way:
- add X-Moblin-Priority = Late to the .desktop file
- start the syncevo-dbus-server directly
I'm uncertain how important doing this is. We have a working solution which is
currently getting reviewed by QA which also works in other distros. On the
other hand, packaging an extra file is a nuisance and costs some small amount
of CPU time at startup.
Yongsheng, what do you think?

[Bug 9216] New: Implement GetConfigs dbus call for direct sync
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9216
Summary: Implement GetConfigs dbus call for direct sync
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: major
Priority: Undecided
Component: SyncEvolution

ReportedBy: congwu.chen(a)intel.com
QAContact: yanshuang.zheng(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
As we discussed in bugzilla 7089, GetConfigs need to be changed accordingly to
support direct sync and use the new Template Configuration api.
In particular, we have to:
1) Listen on Bluez to get a list of paired devices
2) In GetConfigs (true), we have to query against the underlying template
system via the device name we got from Bluez and create a list of templates for
each device, the templates need be stored per client session.
3) A later GetConfig in the same session would get the template created in the
previous step.
It is nice if we could detect correctly if the peer is a SyncEvolution based
implementation, thus we query against the template system via "SyncEvolution"
instead of the device name.

[Bug 9863] New: Debian Etch + bluez-utils 3.36: no SyncML capable devices found

When querying org.bluez via D-Bus, the UUIDs even of (according to sdptool)
SyncML capable devices are empty and thus ignored by syncevo-dbus-server.
Setting up such a device via the sync-UI is therefore impossible. See bug #9216
for details.
This seems to be http://wiki.bluez.org/ticket/14
The only possible workaround is to create templates for all devices, not just
those that have the right SyncML UUID. Let's see whether that becomes a real
problem for us.

[Bug 9682] New: SyncML server: conflict resolution
by bugzilla@moblin.org
http://bugzilla.moblin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9682
Summary: SyncML server: conflict resolution
Classification: Moblin Projects
Product: SyncEvolution
Version: upstream
Platform: Netbook
OS/Version: Moblin Linux
Status: ASSIGNED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: SyncEvolution
AssignedTo: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
ReportedBy: patrick.ohly(a)intel.com
QAContact: yanshuang.zheng(a)intel.com
CC: syncevolution(a)lists.intel.com
Steps to reproduce:
- setup SyncEvolution as client of a SyncEvolution
- get client and server in sync with a single task
- modify task on client and server
- sync
- sync again
- ...
During each sync, client and server swap their items. They are never really in
sync.
Either the server should preserve one task during the conflict resolution or
both, but not permanently send data around.
Might be possible to reproduce with other data, not checked yet.
