As far I understand it, this bug is linked to some behavior in the
n900
proprietary bits, which Nokia is not interested to fix nor open.
I only know that Nokia was not interested in helping fix the issue. I don't
know whether closed bits are involved - it might be possible for someone with
enough time, skills and the device to fix it without Nokia's help.
If it's not possible to fix it in n900, and considering it did
work before (and
it still work on some platforms), would it be possible to workaround it on the
other end (so either syncevolution, obex libs, bluetooth stack or the kernel)?
I have no idea what that workaround might be. Limiting the message size didn't
work out.
