It was basically "PeerIsClient = 1" missing from my
"gui-+SyncMLVersin=1.0"-config (k700) ...
Okay, got it. Indeed, devices cannot be set up manually with the sync-ui.
What I don't understand is whether you need SyncMLVersion=1.1 for the K700 to
work?
I think the "syncevo-phone-config --create-config"-created
config (spc-k700)
would work except for the wrong SyncMLVersion Setting (1.2 instead of 1.1)

Thanks for fixing it, but I ended up doing it slightly differently, so I'm not
merging your patch directly.
So, just to be sure: you need SyncMLVersion=1.1 and the tool did not put that
into the generated config? It's definitely not in the output that you quoted.
Just didn't do a live test with that config so far because i
couldn't find out
how to disable the other detected configs like calender, memos and so on.
In the config files, set sync=none. In the sync-ui, just unset the checkmarks.

PS:
- the config (imho) doesn't show up properly in sync-ui
- my phone DOES show up under "Direct Sync" in "Select Sync
Service" and
seems configured
- compared to empty .config/syncevolution - "We don' know what this device
is..." has gone)
- "Send Changes to Nokia S40", "Receive changes from Nokia S40",
then under
"Sync": "Contacts", "Notes",
"Appointents&Tasks" show up - all selected except
the last one
Is "Appointments&Tasks" enabled when creating a config with
--combined-calendar-task? I think you also need --advanced to reliably detect a
correct config.

Categories with
"Nokia S40" but I can't disable "Contacts" and "Tasks"
This is something that I don't understand. Can't you uncheck the unwanted
categories before "Save and use"?
