Yeah, I guess it's my fault. When the calendar-backend docs said that the
CJournal object can be constructed with a szDescription parameter, it seems I
wrongly assumed that the string would actually be saved in the Description
field (and hence retrievable with getDescription()), not in the Summary field.
I'll fix the backend to use getSummary() instead of getDescription() when the
format is text/plain. As far as I can tell from testing, the actual Description
field is not used for memos, at least not by the official calendar application.
The Maemo backend is also able to supply memos in vcalendar format, which
probably would have worked if the engine had asked for it, but no matter...
