--- Comment #3 from Patrick Ohly <patrick.ohly(a)gmx.de> ---
(In reply to comment #2)
CalDAV/CardDAV that is.
As WebDAV is growing more and more important because of all the Google and
Android Stuff and SyncML support is widely quirky or not developed in these
branches, I'd suggest re-naming this feature request to "Add Cal/CardDAV to
GUI".
I agree that it is important. Unfortunately there is no GTK developer around at
the moment who could take care of this.
For this to work reliably, the GTK UI should be extended to allow choosing the
databases on the local and remote side. Just using the default will be easier,
but isn't guaranteed to always do what the user wanted (might pick the wrong
"default" remote side) and wouldn't support configuring multiple databases
of
the same kind.
After I have managed to get a Cal/CardDAV sync running with owncloud,
I just
need to know you the GUI triggers auto-sync. Is that via cron?
No, the syncevo-dbus-server does that. It gets started via XDG autostart as
part of the session startup, then keeps running when it detects a config with
auto syncing.
