A while ago I had a situation where syncs failed consistently with 500
(DB_Fatal). Log said:
[ERROR] calendar: retrieving item: 20091210T110404Z-19227-1000-1-0@vili-rid:
Object not found
Patrick said this looks like EDS problem and restarting EDS did resolve it. So
the error should probably be a local error (LOCAL_STATUS_CODE + DB_Fatal
maybe?).

I had a similar problem and already discussed it with Lukas: at the SyncML
level, 500 is correct , but locally we should get it marked as a local problem.
Need to check the code to see why that doesn't work.

Found the reason. The Synthesis engine reports a local status code, but it is
not transported into the overall session result because the exception handling
code lacks a special case for such engine exceptions.
Fix is in the slow-sync branch for master (because I wanted to use the
Status2String() function added there for debugging). I don't think we need to
backport it to 0.9.x, because the error reporting there is so much less
sophisticated that it wouldn't make a difference (IMHO).
