2. netbook(server) -> netbook(client)
Description:

This issue is following bug#9572 . After handset integrated syncevolution, I
tried to make it as client to sync. But I want to track this issue in netbook
side firstly.
With two netbook machine, when I trid to sync with a SyncEvolutionClient by
bluetooth, it told me 'TransportException while sending SAN package'. Two-way
sync addressbook failed.
My steps:

1. Pair with the client machine successfully. (transfer file by bluetooth can
pass).
2. Do a config: syncevolution -l SyncEvolutionClient client
3. Modify client configuration with client machine's bluetooth MAC
4. syncevolution --run -s two-way client addressbook (then it failed)

My steps are following the second way of bug#9752 described and service
initiate the sync. I assume the feature is ready for testing, so mark my
failure as major issue.
I will contact Congwu tomorrow to debug. Thanks!

Not sure whether Congwu is going to be able to comment today, so let me comment
with some questions.
What does "sdptool search --bdaddr <mac address> SYNCML" show? Does it
find the
SyncML service on the target machine?
You said that file transfer works. So obexd is running on the target machine?
Which version?
Perhaps it wasn't compile with SyncEvolution support? Hmm, obexd source doesn't
seem to have --enable flags for this, so it should be on.

Eh, one config step might be missing:
- on the SyncML client, configure a server with template "SyncEvolution"
and the server's mac address in the syncURL - see bug #6175

And there is a problem in the template selection:
The fingerprint for "SyncEvolutionClient" also matches
"SyncEvolution", causing
the following command not work as expected (Code committed in congwu branch,
Patrick please merge).
Jingke, please do
vi /usr/share/syncevolution/templates/clients/SyncEvolution/template.ini
change
"fingerprint = SyncEvolutionClient,SyncEvolution"
to
"fingerprint = SyncEvolutionClient"
Then recreate the config at the handset using the following step:

Thank Patrick for more hints in comment#2. With Congwu, we did more things:
1. restart obexd with 'obexd -nd --syncevolution' (has to be in root account)
2. restart syncevo-dbus-server in normal user
3. Modify the template.ini on client side as comment#4 told.
Now, SAN package can be sent to client. But current error is: bad addressbook
content in response (local, status 20006). And more, syncevolution log cannot
be redirected into .cache/syncevolution for the folder is made by root. Let us
to solve those problems one by one.

Not sure what package it pulled in the image, I checked with src rpm from
http://repo.mobile-central.org/eef088adb5dad035866534ffe27fde4c/trunk/rep...
at least my fix is not there.

I don't understand that part. Why was the directory created by root?
To expand more on this, obexd and syncevo-dbus-server should be running under a
normal user account, sharing one session D-Bus to communicate with each other.
The root account shouldn't be involved.

To expand more on this, obexd and syncevo-dbus-server should be running under a

The root account shouldn't be involved.
We found if starting both obexd and dbus manually in normal user, there are
some errors in dbus side when doing sync:

I agree with you, but it seems in
Moblin obexd was started by root.
We found if starting both obexd and dbus manually in normal user, there are

I just checked, under Moblin 2.1 obexd was running as the normal "moblin" user.
If that's no longer the case in Trunk, please file another bug.
Besides being essential for SyncEvolution (root doesn't have access to a user's
EDS), doesn't running as root also affect other services, like file transfers?
When you send a file to a MeeGo device via OBEX, who owns the copy on the
receiving end? Root or the normal user? It must be the normal user.

Hi Patrick,
By bluetooth FTP, if the obexd is started in normal user (default), the
received file is in /tmp/ under normal user. If I start obexd in root account,
the file is under root (also in /tmp/). It is reasonable and will not affect
syncevolution.
So, the debug method Congwu and I firstly took should not work (start obexd in
root, do sync in normal). Now obexd and syncevolution are both done in normal
user, anything to be concerned?
Back to this issue. To get "Direct Device Sync via OBEX" work, we only need to
deal with the fingerprint issue in comment#4 , for other two obexd/openobex
bugs have been fixed. Then I will have another try.

Then all is well. I thought you had started it as root because it also ran as
root normally.
Back to this issue. To get "Direct Device Sync via OBEX"

The fingerprint was changed in the template.
