I am more concerned about the fields with tel:work fields.  Server has these numbers saved as cell and fax. If client has no support for this as is evident in the outgoing devinfo, the client vcard shoiluld not be storing these and should be discarded by client.  Is it not so?

I have only modified the 01card. Profile.xml

I am not sure how thoroughly you removed the references to VOICE. For
example, there are some scripts which add back the VOICE flag. You can
debug this by running with "loglevel=4" and looking at the resulting
syncevolution-log.html file of the sync. It will contain detailed
descriptions of incoming data and its transformation.
