I think both GUIs work on desktop systems. But as I said a while ago,
both follow different approaches and therefore are useful in different
situations. I'm glad that Genesis is alive and healthy. Of course, the
best user interface for SyncEvolution is the command line ;-)
Fortunately, Genesis development has gained momentum lately, thanks
to
David Castellanos joining the development team. He developed a sync
application derived from Genesis which is part of the Spanish Molinux
distribution[2].
Is there more information available about this application in English?
The web site seems to be all in Spanish. The reason for asking is that I
want to make sure that SyncEvolution core meets the needs of that app
(assuming that it is used, of course, and not just the Genesis GUI).
Now many improvements, like full account management,
will find their way back to Genesis.
Does that include using the D-Bus API directly? We are behind plan with
using it in the sync-UI, but the implementation is fairly complete by
now and ready for testing.
So we set up a new development team on Launchpad[3] with its own
mailing
list. We invite everybody interested in participating in Genesis
development to join that team and the mailing list.
I registered, just to keep informed. The main list for SyncEvolution
core is still here.
