There is a bug that statistics for calendar and todo do not show up in
the sync-ui, but I take it that there is a more fundamental problem. I
don't remember: did you say that you are using SyncEvolution 1.1.1? That
version is highly recommended for phone sync.
Log files showing how SyncEvolution tries to send calendar items would
help.

No. I was reluctant to do so because the other Nokia config that came
preloaded was for a different model and I wasn't sure how safe it would
have been to run that.
Well, picking a Nokia model is still a better choice than using the
template for something entirely different. Is there anything that can be
done in the UI or the documentation to make that more clear?
Out of curiosity, which template did you decide to use instead of the
Nokia one?
