One of the main issues is simply that depending (I presume) on where the
data originated sometimes names are sorted by first name (as if the
whole name is one field) and sometimes they are sorted (as I expect) by
family name.
E.g. if I enter "Chris Green" into the name field of a new entry in
Evolution it automatically assumes that the *last* name I enter is the
family name and it appears in the File Under box as "Green, Chris".
So in other words, all contacts, regardless how they were created,
should have "<last name>, <first name>" as sort key? That can be
achieved in the "convert for Evolution" script fragment.
It has to be Evolution specific, because some other software might have
other conventions.
It might also be useful to make it user-configurable, because some users
might carefully override the suggested "file-as" string such that first
name comes first.
Another issue is what happens to multiple phone numbers, if an entry
has
(for example) two or three 'Home' phone numbers what does Syncevolution
do with them?
SyncEvolution should just pass them through.
Does the phone throw away numbers?
