Yes, I saw that. For proprietary stuff (a lot of well-known iPhone apps seem to appear in
here) it's easy.
"We" should definitely define something and register it
officially as
DNS-SD service type. If we pick a neutral name (not SyncML or OMA-DS),
then I guess we can do it without OMA getting involved.

Intel is a OMA member and I know who our representative is. I suggest we
write up a proposal and then approach OMA. I can do both sometime next
week, if you want.

The most tricky part is probably representing the datastore path such that a client can
figure out which ones to use for which of the datatypes. Mime-type to path name mapping
alone doesn't do the trick for all the events/tasks/combined/weird-ovi cases. We'd
probably need an extra "variations" list, saying something like
"VTODO" or "VEVENT" or "VTODO,VEVENT" to differentiate
them.
Anyway, I'm open to discussions and helping to create a proposal.
