thanks for the quick reply.
I checked my address books and found duplicates there.
It seems that the import succeeded in different address books.
How do I maintain more address books, like 'personal', 'business',
'school' etc.?
Can I maintain such different address books also on my HTC mobile phone?
As far as I have found out, this is not possible.

The birthday calendar is calculated on-the-fly from the birthdays stored
in the address book.
Perhaps you have duplicate contacts now?
You can look at the statistics from syncing with the server to determine
when that might have happened:
syncevolution --print-sessions funambol
(I'm assuming here that you named your config as it is usually done when
using the Funambol template).
