Please be more specific. I am not following what you mean with "these" -
the phone numbers or the parameters?
Do you expect the server to not send "TEL;TYPE=FAX" phone numbers
because the client did not declare its support for that? Or do you
expect the client to discard any telephone number with unknown
I think that behavior is not specified anywhere.
I personally find it more natural to always store TEL values and use the
known types merely as a hint. Consider the most extreme situation, a
client which cannot store any type flags - wouldn't it be better to
store TYPE=WORK and TYPE=HOME telephone numbers on such a client and
then letting the user decide how to use them than not storing them at
