I assume that you want to synchronize PIM data. This is problematic
because typically Android phones do not support such a local sync. Some
vendors (including Samsung) have proprietary solutions, but those use
undocumented protocols and thus replicating the feature on Linux is
hard.
Your best bet is to synchronize an Android phone with Google (works
best) and Evolution with Google (either using Evolution's internal
support or with SyncEvolution). The key difference between Evolution's
internal support and SyncEvolution is that SyncEvolution supports
offline write access in Evolution.
Alternatively you can set up your own Exchange server or use one of the
hosted Exchange services. SyncEvolution will support synchronizing
against that via ActiveSync in version 1.3. This will work for events
and contacts.
For event sync, a CalDAV server also works already with SyncEvolution
1.2.
First I paired my Phone with my Notebook. To put this option to the
test I tried to send an Picture in bouth directions. To get this
working I needed to install and setup gnome-user-share.
Does syncevolution also depent on this Package?
