install the "Dates" application to get libecal.so and a GUI for a
calendar.
Yes, it does. As pointed out in our Bugzilla (#8511, "Compile for maemo
5: support calendar-backend-dev"), supporting the native calendar on
Maemo 5 will require writing a new backend. Volunteers wanted :-/
