Not typically. The source config may contain everything needed to access a particular local or remote database (as long as that remote database is not SyncML), completely independently of any peer.


I was thinking for example of the database property on an EAS backend. The database itself isn't meaningful without knowing what server it lives on, which is stored in the peer/sync config.
