-l ?${matchstring}" or trying to configure syncing with my phone.
I went back and also extracted the files from the etc folder in the
syncevolution-1.1-evolution.tar.gz package, and rebooted and this seemed
to solve the server issue.
Despite the INSTALL file instructions, should the etc folder also be
extracted when doing a tar.gzip install of 1.1?
Yes, the /etc folder should be extracted, but that doesn't explain the
issue you had. The /etc/xdg/autostart/syncevo-dbus-server.desktop
ensures that the syncevo-dbus-server is started on login, which is
relevant only if you have configurations with automatic syncing enabled.
What exactly was the error message you got for "syncevolution
-l ?${matchstring}"? Something about not being able to start the
service? The file /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.syncevolution.service
should take care of that, and I would expect (but haven't verified) that
the dbus-daemon is able to use that file after installation without
having to be restarted.
Also, it might help less experienced installers if the configuration
documentation made it more clear that sync-ui is available from the
command line after syncevolution 1.1 is installed.
Hmm, okay. But it does show up as a menu item after restarting the
session, right?
