I'm not sure whether this particular problem is among them, but it seems
that at least at some point, patches were necessary to get SyncML
working in eGroupware. Do you know whether they are included in your
installation?

I'm using a stock debian installaion, i.e. 1.6.002+dfsg-1. I don't know
what's in there exactely, but from your link there may still be more to
add.
I'll try to patch the installed version.
