Hello,
I have been using syncevolution with my own funambol server for well
over a year without any problems. I had syncevolution running on a
Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 laptop where everything worked great until just
recently when I upgraded to Ubuntu Lucid 10.04. Now, syncevolution
doesn't sync the address book properly and I am at my wits end to figure
out what the problem is and how to fix it.
Are you sure that you continue to use the local file-based address book
in Evolution? You can check that by running "syncevolution" without
further parameters.
In particular, watch out for the "couchdb" backend - it did not work
with SyncEvolution at all initially and although that may have been
fixed, hasn't been tested with SyncEvolution.
If that's not the problem, then let's look into the specific issues:
So far, I have identified
the following three problems:
1) When I add a contact to the address book, syncevolution transmits the
contact to my funambol server, however, it omits including the email
address which is left blank on the funambol server after the sync operation.
Please run a log at loglevel=3 and cut-and-paste an example contact,
including the conversion steps, from the log file in
~/.cache/syncevolution
2) When I delete a contact in the address book, syncevolution does
not
delete the corresponding contact on the funambol database.
3) syncevolution always reports "No Changes Necessary" even when the
database has changed.
Seems like local change detection is broken somehow. What does
"syncevolution --status funambol" say after deleting and updating one
contact locally?
