This is the flip side of the jumbo contact test: fill all fields on the
n900 at least once (for IM, email and telephone, at least 4 times)
Sync to desktop
evolution preserves all - ui shows 4 emails, 4 contacts, and all phone
I see inconsistent behavior in IM sync
from evolution to n900 no change to the vcf
from n900 to evolution a "TYPE=HOME" is removed (VCF)
N900 to evolution - Googletalk is turned into a jabber contact
see my previous note for the inverse behavior)
evolution does not support the field and as it moves from n900 to
evolution it looks like the field is dropped :-(
All of this is to say there is some mapping going on, and it may be fine
as long as no significant info is lost...it does seem a bit inconsistent
to me - but there are probably reasons...

Some of the problem may be due to the emulator not supporting
Jabber or Skype as a contact type (even after I installed the Pidgin
protocols plugin to add support for these to the N900 conversations.
Still I would expect the VCF not to be changed. The contact might not
display which is fine.
Just tested the other IM protocols available for a contact in evolution:
Gadu-Gadu, MSN, Icq, Groupwise.
Result: All display fine after sync to N900 except NO Groupwise
(probably due to lack of installed support for Groupwise)
Also tested VCF compare using synccompare
Result: MSN and GaduGadu remove "TYPE=HOME"
